Reverse of ricasso is marked S178G, which in turn, matches the reverse of the scabbard markings. Blade shows light sharpening, which is not uncommon for combat bayonets. Wood grips are entirely intact. Scabbard has two small dents - one on the obverse, and a slightly larger one on the reverse. Frog seems original to the piece, as it retains a corresponding amount of age as the rest of the piece. Hilt is nice, and shows slight rubbing on the crossguard. In summary, a salty bayonet with that "been-there" look whose double-matching numbers make it a real sleeper.
