Brocade is in fine condition, with no rips or tears, or fraying.  It is the type with very nicely defined SS runes on the stem.  The knot interior is stuffed with a piece of ribbon, as is the case with most pieces (you can see the black stripes if you stare down into the knot from the lower "opening."  Overall, a very nice knot waiting for application onto your SS sword.
