Here's a fine Fireman's dress bayonet in out of the woodwork condition. The piece hasn't been touched, except that the vet applied his initials and Social Security number to the blade with an electric engraving pencil. Otherwise the blade is in excellent condition, with great polish and the hard to find sawtooth back. The plated fittings show bubbling under the surface. The scabbard retains around 95% of its original factory glossy black paint, and is still housed in the original parade leather frog. The knot completes the ensemble, which also shows light use and age, and some vertigris on the metal wire. Not a mint piece, but a strong example that still displays very well. Bargain priced!
