What makes this piece spectacular is that it is entirely uncleaned.  It retains about 95% of the original factory protective lacquer.  So, like many Knights Crosses and "Russian Hoard" Iron Crosses, this piece is white and frosty.  I have seen only one other goblet like this.  Awarded to Oberleutnant Fritz K√∂hler, 2./Kampf-Geschwader 76, who later earned the German Cross in Gold.  I am not sure what platform this unit flew, but I leave that up to the new owner.  This goblet is expensive, but if you would like to have the finest example in the world, this is it.  The ONLY age to this piece is slight lacquer streaking and loss - it's an amazing piece.  Correctly marked on the underside, this piece will be the centerpiece of your Luftwaffe collection with respect to condition.
