REFERENCE ONLY. (SOLD or NOT FOR SALE)
A superb grouping to Hans Seibert, who was a Luftwaffe 'Destroyer' pilot and later a ground-attack pilot.  The set includes his cased Pilot's Badge, Pilot's badge document, Military Pilot's license, Service Record, School Graduation certificate, and more.

Hans Siebert received his military pilot's badge in 1941 and here we have his cased Buntmetall Pilot's badge by the scarce maker 'O.M.'. The badge is a textbook example of the well designed badge with the correct eagle details, wreath, hinge, and catch.  The pin has been replaced with a flat, custom made pin which has been fitted into the existing OM hinge.  Definitely appears to be a wartime repair, which, considering the fact that this pilot was wounded in air battles twice, would make sense!

The presentation case is the earlier type with dark blue velvet base and blue silk inner lining to the lid. The lid reads 'Luftwaffen Flugzeugführer Abzeichen'. The case shows wear and handling, especially on the exterior, but it still looks great and has more character than an unused case.
The pilot's badge document is dated Christmas Eve, 1941, and lists Seibert's rank as Fähnrich, or officer cadet.

His promotion to Leutnant is included, as is his military pilot's license, which was originally filled out at the Luftwaffe war school at Berlin-Gatow.
His service record Zweitschrift from the Bundes Archiv lists all of his promotions and units attached to, as well as his wounds.
