Navy swords are more rare than one would think. Consider how many Luftwaffe swords you see for every navy sword; makes you think, especially since the Navy had a long-standing tradition of carrying edged weapons. Heck - the clamshell looks like it was chiseled out of solid gold using a laser beam! Anyway, this is one stunning sword, which is not surprising given that it's produced by Eickhorn. Gilting to all exterior parts is about perfect - maybe 98%. Leather scabbard shows light age, but is not damaged or creased. Plain blade, which is far rarer than the etched blade, is virtually perfect. Bullion portepee has been on the piece forever. Celluloid grip has two tiny hairline cracks, which is the only detraction from this stunning sword.
