I purchased this group in Germany about 2 years ago, and it has resided in my collection since then. It is a group of two medals (silver PAB and silver PAB 25) and the corresponding documents presented to Ludwig Hessberger. The group was purchased by my contact from the family of the NCO, but of course as is usually the case in these situations, I have no proof of this. The silver assault badge was awarded in August 1944, during which time Großdeutschland was involved in heavy fighting in both East Prussia and the Baltic States. The even neater thing is that the 25 engagement award was given to Hessberger on May 3, 1945 - just days before Germany's surrender. You can tell they were short on supplies, as the document is not a pre-printed award certificate, but was typed out on an award-sized piece of paper. Overall, a great historical group.
