A near mint example of the white topped Kriegsmarine 'Donald Duck' cap.  The cap band is constructed of a superb quality navy blue wool and features the 'Kriegsmarine' full length cap band, done in bevo woven gold metallic embroidery.  The upper part of the cap is white tightly woven cotton, and has the gold eagle and cockade device attached.  There is a reinforcement in front to keep the peak of the cap high and a grey leather sweatband with 'Stirndruckfrei' bead around the lower edge.  There is a tiny corner of the sweatband that has chipped off at the end where it's fastened with a thread loop, but otherwise it's intact and undamaged.  One of the best preserved examples I've seen in a long time!
