Leather scabbard is in phenomenal shape.  Exterior fittings are heavy gilted brass, with a very dark patina covering the fittings.  Scabbard throat is marked "CG" (yes, my initials).  Ivory grip is not cracked or chipped, and features a beautiful toning.  Blade is exquisite genuine damascus, with a combination of raised rosebud and maidenhair.  Obverse shows a panel on the elongated ricasso, which features a hammered inlay of what appears to be solid gold, depicting a wild board running in the mountains.  This is not "gilted" but actually hammered-in-place gold material.  The workmanship is stunning.
